Radio Station
The KCRH 89.9 FM radio station is operated by the Mass Communications Department
of Chabot College in Hayward, CA. We broadcast 6 a.m. to midnight 365 days a
year, and can also be heard on the Secondary Audio Program (SAP) of Comcast
Channel 27.
KCRH is the only FM station licensed to the city of Hayward, CA. We also serve
San Lorenzo, San Leandro, Castro Valley, and Union City. We play the latest
hits, as well as news and sports during our regular rotation, 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
We also have specialty programming 9 p.m. to midnight Monday-Friday and all day
on weekends.
The KCRH target audience is the 18-25 year-old Chabot student population of
14,000, as well as our high school and Jr. High listeners. We have over 150,000
potential audience members in our broadcasting area.
We play today's best new music as well as yesterday's classics with a variety of
specialty programs which cover the genres of: R&B, rap, hip hop, pop, Latin,
oldies, alternative, indie, metal, industrial, punk, ska, reggae, hardcore, new
wave, brit pop, trip-hop and electronica.

is an award winning broadcast radio station. Our staff is made up entirely of
students who take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it on the
air. You also have the opportunity to develop radio skills in departments such
as:
Music, Production, Promotions, News, Sports, Programming,
Underwriting/Sales, Web Design, Continuity/Traffic, and Public
Service.
