The Nursing Program is approved by the California Board of Registered
Nursing. An accelerated program has offered Licensed Vocational Nurses admission
into the 2nd year of the major as well as other advanced standing applications.
All advanced standing applicants are admitted on a space available basis.

Upon satisfactory completion of the major, students are eligible for the Registered Nurse License Examination. The program prepares graduates who can contribute to the advancement of nursing science and influence changes in a variety of settings within the health care system. The graduate possesses a repertoire of knowledge, skills, and attributes that serve as the foundation for safe, competent practice and lifelong learning.

This program in nursing is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Satisfactory completion of this program qualifies the student to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nursing (NCLEX).
LVNs who enter into the second year of the nursing program may opt for one of the three following: A.A. in Nursing, Non-Degree option, or 30-unit option. The 30 unit option is offered and accepted only in the State of California. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nursing (NCLEX-RN) in the state of California. Please see the Nursing Program Director regarding this option. Fall 2010 application opens on 03/01/2010, closes 10/31/2010.
This program meets the requirements of Section 2736.6 of the Nurse Practice Act and Section 1429 of the Regulations.
Open only to Licensed Vocational Nurses holding a current California license as an LVN.
