Denny Aye has guided the Gladiator basketball
program to new heights. In 5 seasons he
has guided Chabot to a record of (98-64).
In each of his seasons Chabot has been ranked in
the top ten in Northern California, four of
which have resulted in at least a regional
playoff appearance.
The 2010-11 season will be Coach Aye's 35th year
as a head men's collegiate basketball coach and
his 6th year at Chabot College. In Aye's
34 years coaching he has accumulated a career
record of (722-349). Aye has coached at
numerous levels of men's collegiate basketball
including, NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA and California
Community College. Aye was also an
NBA scout for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Aye has been a head coach for 17 years in the
California Community College system, with 9
trips to the state Final Eight and a record of
(433-144).
From 1985-94 coach Aye constructed a powerhouse
at Columbia College. His 9 year record of
(247-65) 79.2% set the tone for his future
successes in California. In 1989, he
coached his preseason nationally #2 ranked
Columbia College team to a California State
Championship Runner-Up finish, and shortly after
won the California State Championship in 1993.
While at Columbia College Aye led his teams to
an astonishing 8 State Final Eight appearances
in 9 seasons. While at Columbia College 44 out
of 46 players transferred on to a 4 year college
or university.
In 1994 Aye took over the helm at CSU San
Bernardino where he was the only coach in school
history to compile three consecutive winning
seasons, as well as a school record for wins in
a season (17-9) at the NCAA II level.
In 1997 Aye was hired as head coach at Fresno
City College where in 3 seasons his team racked
up a record of (88-16) 84.6% and made it to the
State Final Eight twice.
From 2001-2005 Coach Aye was the head coach at
Marshalltown Community College where in his last
season his team defeated three-time defending
national champions Southeastern CC twice, #1
ranked Moberly and Indian Hills CC. Seven
players from that team transferred on to D1
scholarships. Their 25-9 record was the
best finish in school history with NJCAA Region
XI Runner-Up finish.
Coach Aye has set school records for victories
at 4 different colleges: Palmer Junior College
(26-7), Panhandle State University (23-8),
Columbia College (33-3), and California State
University San Bernardino (17-9).
Coach Aye has been named California Coach of the
Year, Northern California Coach of the Year 3
times, and 7 times Conference Coach of the Year.
Aye has also coached 4 Northern California
Players of the Year, as well as 3 Northern
California Player of the Year Runner-Ups.

The 2010-11 season will be Devin's 3rd year as assistant
coach at Chabot College, and his 6th year of men's collegiate
coaching overall. Devin comes back to Chabot after a two
year stint as the Full-Time assistant men's basketball coach at
NCAA II CSU East Bay in Hayward, CA.
Devin first began his coaching career in 05-06 at Cosumnes
River College in Sacramento, CA. Then moved to Hayward to assist
for Head Coach and father Denny Aye at Chabot College in
2006-2008. The Gladiators posted a 43-26
record with Devin helping on the sidelines. During the summer of
2008 Devin was hired as the Full-Time assistant coach at CSU
East Bay where he helped the Pioneers win the Cal Pac
Conference, and Cal Pac Tournament for the first time in school
history as well as recruiting Cal Pac Player of the Year and
All-American, Tauran Moore. Devin assists in all aspects
of the program and is especially known for his recruiting
efforts.
Devin played High School basketball at both Bullard HS in
Fresno, CA and Marshalltown HS in Marshalltown, IA. Devin
lettered 4 years on varsity as a combo guard. His Marshalltown
HS team finished ranked #3 in the state of Iowa his junior year
and lost in the state semis at the buzzer his senior year. Devin
was an all-state honorable mention in the large school division his junior year.
Devin played collegiate basketball at San Jose City College
for Hall of Fame coach Percy Carr. After one season Devin
transferred to play for his father, Denny Aye at Marshalltown
Community College where his team eventually beat the 3 time
defending national champions (Southeastern CC) twice, Indian
Hills and #1 ranked Moberly. MCC finished with a school record
25-9 record and an NJCAA Region XI Runner-Up finish. 7 of the 10
players on the team received Division one scholarships. Devin
concluded his basketball career due to injury.
Devin received his AA degree at Marshalltown CC in 04-05, his
Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from CSU East Bay (2008). In
August of 2009 Devin completed his Masters of Science in Sport
Management from California University Pennsylvania. |

The 2010-11 season will be Kenny Barton's fourth year as a member of
the Gladiators men's basketball coaching staff.
Kenny arrived at Chabot College after spending a year as the
boys assistant basketball coach at Wheaton High School in
Silver Springs, Maryland. He was working under legendary, Steve
Hood. Steve was a 1986 McDonalds All-American who went on to be
drafted by the Sacramento Kings after having a stellar playing
career at James Madison University.
Kenny finished his high school basketball career at Riverdale
Baptist School in Largo, Maryland. In his senior year he was
named the Tri-State Conference MVP, Tri-State Conference
Tournament MVP, First Team All-League, Riverdale Baptists Best
Offensive Player and Tri-State All-Academic selection.
Kenny played college basketball under Coach Bill Chambers at
Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Kenny obtained his Bachelors in Science in Sports and
Exercise Studies from Greensboro College in Greensboro, North
Carolina. He then completed the Master's program in Sports
Management at the University of San Francisco in San Francisco,
California. |
